Festival Club - KINNARIS QUINTET & FRIENDS
With very special guests JULIE FOWLIS & KARINE POLWART

Burns&Beyond are proud to present a very special evening of uplifting, highly
emotive, euphoric traditional music, showcasing Scotland’s leading female
musicians and vocalists.
Glasgow-based Kinnaris Quintet burst onto
the music scene in 2017 with a unique sound. They have produced the
perfect concoction of remaining faithful to their traditional roots,
whilst pushing the boundaries of tradition, bringing it to the forefront
of exciting and modern music. Uplifting, fresh, honest and powerful music
created on three fiddles, mandolin and guitar.
Featuring an
all-strings instrumental line-up of fiddles from Laura Wilkie, Aileen Reid
and Fiona MacAskill, mandolin from Laura-Beth Salter and guitar from Jenn
Butterworth. While the members of Kinnaris Quintet are individually
eminent musicians in their own right, their collaboration as a group has
pushed their musical creativity to bold new heights.

‘crystalline’ and ‘intoxicating’ vocals have enchanted audiences around
the world.:

ability for cross-over, and regularly sings and records in other
languages. She currently performs and records with the folk ‘supergroup’
Spell Songs and is a regular face in the acclaimed ‘Transatlantic
Sessions’ live show. A natural collaborator, she has performed with
